Ingredients

  • 6 small Granny Smith apples
  • 6 wooden craft sticks
  • 1 11 oz bag soft caramel candies, unwrapped
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 cup chopped peanuts
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup Halloween sprinkles
  • 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate melted

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan (for melting the caramel)
  • Wooden craft sticks
  • Parchment-lined baking sheet

Method

  1. Wash the apples in warm water to remove the wax and dry them completely.
  2. Tip: Wax or moisture makes the caramel slide off.
  3. Remove the stems and insert a stick into each apple.
  4. Line a baking sheet with greased parchment.
  5. Melt the caramels and cream over low heat, stirring until smooth.
  6. Cool the caramel 2-3 minutes.
  7. Dip and rotate each apple, then scrape the bottom against the pan.
  8. Roll in toppings and place on the baking sheet.
  9. Refrigerate 30 minutes to set and drizzle with melted chocolate if desired.

Notes

Chill the apples before dipping for faster setting.
Store in the fridge for up to 5 days.
